You Cant's Tell, But this VW Passat CC has 495-Horses Running Under its Hood


The most powerful production version of the Passat CC or its facelift iteration (renamed to CC) that is offered by Volkswagen, is the V6 model motivated by a 3.6-liter unit rated at 280hp in North America and 295hp (300PS) in Europe.

If you want more oomph, the only option you have is to check out at what the aftermarket industry has to offer.

One of the tuners that has come up with a power package for the Passat CC and specifically, for the range-topping VR6 4Motion (all-wheel drive) model, is Germany's MR Car Design.

2013 Volkswagen CC R-Line Priced from $32,195* in the U.S.


Some five months after announcing the new 2013 CC R-Line, Volkswagen has released U.S. pricing for the latest addition to its "four-door" coupe's lineup.

The somewhat sportier looking, but not faster, CC R-line will start at $32,195, excluding an $825 destination fee (*), when it reaches dealerships just before the end of the year.

S.W.A.T. Volkswagen CC is Not What You Think


What does acronym S.W.A.T. stand for? Well, for most people it's the short form for 'Special Weapons And Tactics' used to describe an elite tactical unit in various law enforcement agencies.

In this case, however, S.W.A.T. stands for 'Special Wagons And Tuning', which is the name of a German tuning group comprising the KBR Motorsport, Cover EFX, SH CarCare and CFX companies with the Volkswagen CC being one of its newest projects.

New Sportier Looking Volkswagen CC R-Line to go on Sale in the States Later this Year

Volkswagen Jetta CC Highly Unlikely to be Sold in North America, Say Sources


Last month, it was reported that Volkswagen is mulling the development of a sporty looking compact sedan in the likes of the Passat CC (pictured above) based on the running gear of the next Jetta saloon.

Today we learn via a new report from Car&Driver magazine that even though Volkswagen's top brass is positive about the idea and could soon reach a final decision, company sources from Europe reportedly said, "It is highly unlikely that the car will make it to U.S. dealers".

VW Reportedly Developing a Smaller CC Model Based on the Next Jetta


A four-door sedan is a four-door sedan regardless of the height and styling of the roof but automakers had to find some way to market their sportier looking saloons so they coined the somewhat ambiguous term "four-door coupe".

Among the many cars to sprout from this sub-segment are Audi's A5 and A7 Sportback models, BMW’s 6-Series Gran Coupe and of course, the founding Mercedes-Benz CLS.

In all cases, form takes priority over function as these saloons are merely more stylish and more often than not, less spacious and practical versions of the regular four-door models they are based on.

VW was the first mainstream manufacturer to introduce a four-door coupe with the Passat CC, which after its recent facelift, goes by the name of CC. Now the German carmaker plans to add a second, smaller model to its line-up of sporty sedans.
