A latest generation BMW 116d EfficientDynamics hatch driven by the team at Green-Car-Guide at the RAC Future Car Challenge 2012 achieved an average fuel economy of 103 mpg UK (equal to 85.8 mpg US and 2.7lt/100km) over the 64-mile Brighton to London route, recording a 39 per cent improvement over the manufacturer's official 74.3mpg UK combined economy figure. The 2013 model year Amarok that was first announced in August is now available for order in Britain with on-the-road prices starting at £23,536 for the base 2.0 TDI 120hp (122PS) 4Motion and topping out at £31,098 for the new 2.0 BiTDI 178hp (180PS) 4Motion Permanent with BlueMotion Technology and an 8-speed auto.

There's a new fuel-efficient model joining the European market Honda Civic hatchback's range, one which is equipped with the Japanese brand's freshly revealed 1.6-liter i-DTEC diesel engine.
Following its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show in September and before it goes on sale in January of 2013, Honda announced pricing for the 1.6 i-DTEC Civic that starts from £19,400 (equal to US$31,100 or €24,200) for the base SE model, rising to £20,595 for the ES and £23,175 for the top-of-the-range EX.

Infiniti to Build New Compact Model at Nissan's UK Plant

A few months after Infiniti backed out of a plan to have Magna Steyr contract-manufacture its first ever premium compact model in Austria, the Japanese automaker said on Wednesday it has decided to build the car in the UK.

Production will take place at Nissan's Sunderland manufacturing facility and is scheduled to begin in 2015. Infiniti said it will be the first new car brand to be manufactured in the UK on this scale in 23 years.

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Dazzles Londoners, Scrapes front End…

Continuing its global tour that started with the world premiere at the Paris Motor Show in 2010, and has since included stops at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and the Lamborghini of Newport Beach dealership in California, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento was recently filmed in the United Kingdom.

Supercar spotter and YouTube user Shmee150 captured the $2.2 million Sesto Elemento, of which only 20 examples will be built, while it was being unloaded from a transportation truck and pushed into the Lamborghini showroom in London.

Nissan Confirms UK Pricing for New and Sported Up 197hp Juke Nismo

Pricing for the brand-new Nissan Juke Nismo will start from £19,995 on-the-road in the UK for the front-wheel drive model with a 6-speed manual when the Japanese company begins to accept orders in January 2013 with first deliveries set for March.

That's only £1,700 more than the Juke Tekna Edition with the 187bhp (190PS) 1.6-liter turbocharged engine linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox upon which the Nismo is based. For the record, there's also the entry level Accent model with the same powertrain starting at £17,395 OTR.
