Nissan Brings Hi-Cross Concept to LA, Says it Explores Future Crossover Design


If you're experiencing déjà vu looking at the pictures of the Nissan Hi-Cross Concept, it's because the Japanese carmaker displayed the study at the Geneva motor show in March this year to preview the next generation of the European market X-Trail SUV.

So, what's it doing on this side of the Atlantic and the Los Angeles Auto Show then? According to the Japanese carmaker, the concept "offers a bold design statement about the next-generation of Nissan crossovers".

Nissan adds New N-Tec+ Trim to X-Trail's UK Range, On Sale Now at £27,790


The Nissan X-Trail has just welcome a new member in the United Kingdom with the addition of the N-Tec+ trim. According to the company, the new grade level it is positioned between the Acenta and flagship Tekna editions.

In the standard equipment list you will find features such as the Nissan Connect system with a five-inch touch screen navigation with Bluetooth connectivity, the Around View Monitor 360 degree parking system with color front, passenger and rear cameras, keyless entry and start and an electric sunroof.

Nissan's New Hi-Cross Hybrid Crossover Concept Could Replace the X-Trail


Having released only a single teaser image before the Geneva Motor Show, Nissan today lifted the wraps off its Hi-Cross Concept. According to the company, the Hi-Cross shows a possible new design direction for its next crossover which will join the Juke, Qashqai and Murano and most likely replace the X-Trail.

The Hi-Cross measures 4,660mm long, 1,850mm wide and 1,670mm tall. Thanks to its 2,780mm wheelbase, it has three rows of seats and can accommodate up to seven passengers.

Nissan to Tease Next Generation X-Trail with Hi-Cross Concept at the Geneva Motor Show


As the auto industry gears up for the rapidly approaching 82nd Geneva International Auto Show, Nissan released a single teaser photo and video footage of a new concept model called the Hi-Cross.

For now, the Japanese company is only willing to tell us that the Hi-Cross demonstrates how it is "exploring ideas to expand" its crossover lineup.

However, sources state that the Hi-Cross is a concept model for a new D-segment crossover that will replace the more rugged X-Trail SUV, following in the footsteps of the B-segment Juke and C-segment Qashqai, both of which have proved to be a success for Nissan.
